Obviously we are in dire need of WR help. Ebert was here during training camp, played a few preseason games, even scored a TD. So he knows the offense. Lets get him in there ! I'm sure he's not as rusty as Stallworth.

They see him every day and chose Stallworth. They can still activate him off the PS by the weekend if they think he can help. If they don't it will be because they don't. He can still get whatever reps they want him to get as a PS player.

1. If they want him on the roster, they don't have to reveal that until much later in the week. He'll still get to practice normally.

2. Even though Ebert was with the Pats in training camp and has been on the practice squad, he's played more with Hoyer and Mallett, while Stallworth has a lot more experience with Brady. We all know how important that is.

3. The Pats just had Stallworth in for a workout last week, so they are obviously okay with his level of rustiness. And it's not like these free agents are sitting on the couch all day. They still work out, and I'm sure Stallworth has been running routes and having guys throw to him.

The extra roster spot is for Bolden who received a roster exception for his suspension.

I think they'll end up signing somebody tomorrow and then cut someone on Monday to add Bolden. It's not like Belichick to waste a roster spot when he could be getting an extra guy some practice reps.

Like Brady in 2000 ? Only 1 for 3 passing. It really is tough to tell if someone is good or not, if they've never been given a chance. Lets wait to call someone bad, until they've been given a chance to prove themselves.

Except Brady showed them something on the practice field. The team has had plenty of opportunities to sign Ebert and haven't.
