Default Don't confuse talent with experience

This is a young team. We may think that because someone is an all-pro, they are therefore experienced.

The Pats championship teams had veteran leadership on both sides of the ball, most notably on defense. Our defense has the following players with five or less years of experience: Mayo, Spikes, Love, Jones, McCourty, Arrington, Wilson, Chung, Dennard, Hightower. I believe it is the youngest defense in the NFL. Those championship teams thrived in close games, as they knew how to win games and close out teams. They lived for it; this team obviously strives to build a huge lead and not deal with the pressure.

As with all of these "same old story" losses, there's blame all around. When it came time to throw down at the end of the game, the Pats came up short again. Brady made some big mistakes down the stretch. As usual, the offensive line failed when they needed it most. And again, the Patriots proved the run game is an instrumental part of the offense unless the going gets tough, at which time it ceases to exist.

It just takes a few times for these players to make some key stops and realize that they can close out games, and they'll be okay. Hopefully it happens this season.

From the coaches, to the players, to the fans, the problem is that we all have a horrible feeling that the worst possible things will happen at the worst time, and they do.

I believe this team will rebound from these early season losses. I may sound like a homer, but no team is better all-around than the Patriots when it comes to talent. If they learn to hit back after being punched in the mouth, we'll all realize this.

Well, our secondary sucks, but would be worse, and Aaron Rodgers and Drew Breez agree with me!

Experience and talent matters for naught when there's a coaching problem on D.

Coaching matters too. This defense is poorly coached.
Kraft needs to intervene.

I hate seeing the team lose like this. It just stinks. The reality is that this is a very green and mentally soft team. On the winning Seahawks TD, the two safties were both rookies.
We'll be OK but its going to be bumpy ride. We have a good team and it will get better.
Have faith my brothers and sisters.

There is talent everywhere on the team except the secondary. It is almost like ground hog day when we loose big games:

1. The secondary can't make a big play
2. The offensive line can't protect Brady
3. The play calling gets conservative
4. The team with the better defense wins the game

I expect mixed results until our defense can play well in a big game.

We had three rookies in the secondary at the end of today's game.

Nate Ebner has been quite a bust considering his legendary status.

It's too bad Mangini did what he did. I have a feeling we owed him more than we thought to his skills in the secondary.

If things had gone differently, he'd be a great candidate to bring back.

The Patriots have been overachievers the past two years. It doesn't have the talent to compensate for injuries, and it wins so much because it puts in 99% effort in the regular season and plays with terrific schemes to mask its deficiencies.

But in the playoffs a good team at 99% will not beat emotional, talented teams that play at 100%. It's what happened against the Giants in 2011 and the Ravens in 2012.

The offensive line gave Bledsoe a ton of time today.
