Back when Gronk got his deal I said I thought Hernandez would leave so he could be the #1 TE somewhere. I could not be happier to be wrong. Aaron Hernandez just became my new favorite Patriot.

This is one of my favorite thread topics in many months.

Add -on: SMY tweeted:

"Hernandez was mostly thoughtful & emotional, but he did make a joke at Gronk's expense when asked about Gronk's extension:"

"Gronk's a great kid - he probably doesn't even realize he's set for life, because it's Gronk," Hernandez joked." 2 hours ago

I think Hernandez is going to have a monster year - all the more reason to sign him now and not next year when I predict his value will be astronomical.

Great signing - great gesture

What a great kid. Just when you think you know something for sure- like athletes are mostly selfish, and don't get what's important in life- someone comes along and proves you wrong...again.

It's great to hear from a young guy who realizes how blessed he is, appreciates that the team is making a huge investment in him, and understands what is expected from him in return. What a refreshing change from all the "disrespected" multi-millionaires who "have to feed their families."

Wow! what an amazing gesture from AH. I'm happy for him and his family and this really puts things in perspective when you hear a guy talking about the life changes the financial security provides their family. Sounds like how one of us would sound if we were in his shoes as working class people.
