Default Do we need another RB?

Seems like we need one more at RB. If Faulk comes back maybe BB stands pat.

Anyone out there you see a good fit?
thanks

We can use a reliable goal line RB. I don't want to rely on Ridley yet (on the goal line). IDK. maybe Ridley will be fine. Maybe Larsen or Kettani or some combination but not Faulk. Other than the goal line we should have enough RBs.

I think they need another heavy duty RB to give Ridley a breather or as insurance just in case he gets dinged or gets a case of fumblitis. Woodhead can't carry the load and not sure yet about Vereen staying healthy. Hate to have a FB having to do much more than GL runs or blocking.

One thing this team doesn't do often is thrust a new guy onto the field and just let him develop.

Running backs are usually better able to handle it than most. What better way to let an RB develop than let him play?

We shield the rookies far too much I think. It's worth a few mistakes on the field in a won game.

The Patriots have been overachievers the past two years. It doesn't have the talent to compensate for injuries, and it wins so much because it puts in 99% effort in the regular season and plays with terrific schemes to mask its deficiencies.

But in the playoffs a good team at 99% will not beat emotional, talented teams that play at 100%. It's what happened against the Giants in 2011 and the Ravens in 2012.

I could see them going with what they have: Ridley, Vereen, Woodhead, Kettani/camp winner and then solving it during the season if they really get desperate. With all the emerging upside players I don't really want to waste a roster spot on a JAG who we can likely pick up later.

No offense to Faulk who I love but unless he is 100% of what he was i feel like his niche role evaporates and he becomes kind of expendable.

The Pats are likely to keep 5 RBs like they did before. Right now we have 3 RB's and 3 FB's. plus camp fodder. It all depends how the team wants the make up of their RB. If for some reason he keeps 2 FB's (which considering past history is unlikely), I don't see us adding another RB. Vareen was drafted to be a 3 down RB in the 2nd. Ridley has proven he is much more than the SY/GLl RB many thought he was when he was drafted. So, add Woody and a couple of FB's and I'd be fine with it.

Most likely we'll keep one of the FB's and sign a veteran RB as we get closer to June, and keep Faulk on speed dial in case of massive injuries.

I really don't know what Belicheck was doing this off season.............we really needed Adrian Peterson and Matt Forte as a 3rd down back

wasted opportunities......
