Default Thomas and Thomas (my notes from camp)

A. Thomas had a pick of a tip attempt at a catch from evans and laterals it for bigger gain.

D. Thomas had a really nice catch up the seem and I think he had another decent one too.

Watson had a few grabs.

Brady looked to be fine. phew

Welker was a favorite target all day.

RB vs LB in Pass coverage and while for the most part RBs were winning one play never unfolded as Brady just held the ball as Mayo was stride for stride with Maroney for about 30 yards.

Overall running seemed to be the theme of the day. With some last second work toward the end.

The first scrimmage session was all running with Maroney and Jordan looking the best...Ben Jarvis had one nice one. Hobson had a nice play to stuff a run at point of attack.

Matt Slater again looked good on Kick coverage with one real nice one. He worked soly with the de today (as far as I could tell).

Chad Jack had one nice punt return. And a few grabs.

I am a huge Hobbs fan so take this for what it is. He was not working with the ones and at times it almost seemed like the threes but other than that I couldn't tell why he would say he wasn't 100%. I think he might just mean game shape and not health. He looked good in a one on one jam the line of scrimmage drill.

I tried to get an eye on Bo Ruud but every time I looked for him he was playing scout team stuff (TE). I am sure it wasnt the whole time but when I tried to look.

Bone head move of camp. During STs work they stopped a play before it started and it appeared as though Crable never came onto the unit and they were short a man. It is possible someone ran off and I didn't notice.

Weirdest play I have seen. Quick pass to Faulk who was curling over the middle at the same time Moss Did a inside slant from the opposite side and Faulk latteraled it to him.....I think that was the body of the real play but it didnt stop the laterals continued and even Brady had ran down field and he got the ball and threw it across the whole length of the field to faulk who continued to run with it.

And of course it was Tommy's birthday so singing to him all day.

Well done, grasshopper!

These alone are awesome.

I'll say this anyone who was worried about Welker being ready, don't be.

I was at camp today myself and I guess I thought I might see a bit more out of my boy Chad Jackson. I did see alot of KR and PR duties for Chad which was good, yet I did see a dropped quick interior slant, although the ball did look to be a bit behind him, I thought the ball was catchable. Chad ran alot with the 2's and only with the 1's during 4-WR sets, yet when Watson stepped on the field, Gaff stepped into the 3-spot with Wes and Randy. No one looks better on the field physically than Chad, what a speciman, I just thought at this point, I'd see more, hopefully that will change.

The RB/LB one on one's described with Mayo were spot on, he ran step for step with LM and forced an overthrow. You can see his speed, quickness and agility, it was great to see him running with the 1's pretty consistently today with Tedy.

Ellis Hobbs, as we know just got back, now whether he has to work his way back to that starters spot or whether Terrence Wheatley has taken this from him is anyone's guess at this point, as Ellis ran with the 2's all day and Terrence with the 1's. With the way Terrence looked today, his speed and instincts stand out. Something tells me, we'll be seeing Ellis in the nickle spot in Sept, even when fully healthy. We'll see.

To those who have attended TC sometime during this past week:

Do you ever hear any buzz, from fans and/or the press, regarding the health of Neal, or regarding the reason why Dave Thomas was on the PUP list in the first place? Was the reason because of a recurring foot problem, the same problem that IRed him last season?

I have not been at camp, but according to the Globe (Reiss), Neal had offseason surgery. Thomas was not on PUP at the start of camp. If I remember correctly, he hurt his leg last week. I guess they decided to shut him down, until he was close to 100% again.

I just saw the thread re: Dave Thomas a couple of minutes ago. You're right, of course: DT wasn't on the pre-season PUP list; I should've remembered that.

I really, really hope that his foot problem doesn't become a frequently recurring one. One injury-free season oughta do the trick.

Hobbs has said he's not at full speed and they're working him back in. He had two kinds of surgery. If he could challenge Asante for the #1 spot, you can bet he'll take Wheatley's spot easily enough, as soon as he's back to full speed.
