I agree that our offense would be better with this re-signing and three additions.

I agree that McDaniels would a happy camper.

SUGGESTION
If we really have enough cap room to sign FOUR major free agents, perhaps ONE of them should be on defense. Perhaps we should re-sign Andre Carter and Anderson or their replacements.
No I'm not saying it's'da ONLY answer but a significant one on offense. Look what happened when Gronk couldn't be 100% and there was no deep threat or legit receiver besides Welker. Forte would be key because he would add another dimension and control clock and move chains more consistantly than what we have.

Again I know there are other priorities to attend to. I said if it was feasable to work those players in cap room etc. It's quite obvious that a BB team ranked 31st on Defense is Unacceptable for BB standards. I'm sure that will be addressed as well.

Just something to chew on until the Draft and free agency.
perhaps my memory has gotten a little foggy but I seem to recall more screens to the TE's and RB's under McDaniels than BOB ever made. Its almost like they took out the screen plays from the playbook when BOB took over.

Also McD has always been willing to go to the trick play (reverse, flea flicker etc) much more than BOB.

And finally BOB was much more predictable than McD. Heck when I am calling the play just by the way they line up or who is in the huddle form the comfort of my couch what do you think opposing D's and DC's are able to do? Now how much of that is BOB and how much is Brady changing the play I don't know.

I am actually glad BOB has left and McD is back. Just 1 fans opinion.

Anyone arguing that McD or BOB is better than Weiss is crazy. Charlie may have had his faults and occasionally called dumb plays, but he was better at exploiting match ups where we had an advantage than Bob and Josh. He never worked with the Brady we have now, who is infinitely a lot better QB than he was when Weiss was coaching him, but was still able to put in him position where the success rate of plays called were tipped greatly to his advantage. Not to mention the overall talent that we have on offense now is greater than we had in Weiss's years yet we were still more unpredictable and harder to defend back then.

When we played the Steelers in the opening game of 02, Weiss had the nutsack to pass the ball something like 28 straight times even though we were a predominantly running offense. We were prepared and executed the game plan perfectly.

Another thing Weiss was great at was his ability to call the right play in crucial spots in the biggest games to convert a third down or get a TD. Now, it's all on Brady to read the defense and make the right decision.

I'll take his gameplans, playcalling and in-game adjustments over McD's and BOb's any day.
