Default A slice of advice

Ignore all media over this week, or at least for the next few days. The haters are going to be going off on how TB is now a choker and that they have not won a SB since spygate and blah blah blah. I can honestly say now that the season is over I will probably not turn my TV to ESPN until draft day. Ignore all the sports talk shows and blogs and newspapers ect because it is just going to be more of the same.

I once said, half-jokingly, that February 2008 was the most productive month I ever had.

I don't really watch ESPN or NFL Network anymore so this is no problem for me. I'm off work tomorrow so I'll miss the recaps from co-workers which is a huge bonus for me.

Better advice:

Don't turn on ESPN at all, unless the Patriots are playing MNF.

I haven't watched ESPN since because of that - I couldn't deal with it. The footage they showed on NBC during the pregame from that game tonight was the first time I'd actually seen it since watching it live. And it still made my stomach turn.

I think I'm handling tonight a little better because this team wasn't as talented as that one was, and I didn't witness a perfect season get erased by one loss. Although it's still a missed opportunity, but at least since I'm already used to not watching any of it I won't need to change my routine

NBC was shameful tonight after the game in the way they showed Bob Kraft. What was the point of that? NBC is a scumbag network so I should not expect anything less.

NFL Network is a lot better than ESPN but I don't get NFL Network. What I do like is Sirius NFL Radio.

A big part of games, professional or amateur is THE COMPETITION. To COMPETE. Someone has to lose, and therein is one of lifes biggest lessons. Its how you DEAL with losing that defines you, not how many or how much you win! Its all caviar and roses when things are going well, you find out who you and your friends REALLY are when times are tough. In these economic times its not a bad thing to watch a team like the pats and how they deal with losing. To not watch is to forego a life lesson, and bury your head in the sand like an ostrich isnt the best way to deal trust me. Its all about moderation, not getting too high or too low and learning how to win. If you dont understand how you lose you wont be more prepared to win the next time! The bandwagon wasnt always this big, and it was built by teams and fans that didnt run at the first sign of danger, the first loss, or losing season. To be there for the team is to be a part of the community so if you celebrate the win at least understand the loss and congratulate the other team for doing what it takes to win. Understand your competition too, it makes the offseason a little shorter.
