Default Running the ball

A poster this week kept putting up the Pass/ Run Ratio the past two games against the Giants, and tonight's game is nearly identical to those games.

Brady 27/41

Green Ellis 10/44

Should've ran the ball more, and please stop with the Bulletin Board material crap.

I agree that they should have run the ball more. That drive right around 9:25 in the 4th there should have been a run on nearly every down. But we run once and go enpty backfield on the other 2 downs then end up having to punt the ball away. Drove me insane.

Ridley zero carries. Why even have him active?

So the guy who we thought might end up being a pretty good RB (and was save for a few misteps late in the year) got zero carries in the last 2 games of the year.

Just priceless.

Unfortunately, I think this has very little to do with him, even though he does suck, I think this is just how the organization wants to do things, so I don't think there will be too many changes going forward in that department.

BOB and his lack of patience with the running game drove me nuts all year. I don't know, we have a runner, who never fumbles, rarely gets negative yardage, and who pushes forward hard..in other words the Anti-Maroney. Then we have a change of pace, smaller runner in Woodhead. I just remember the first Jets game when we ran the ball down the throat of a gassed Jets team - that is what I mean...

Agreed.

In a weird way, just because you're good at something (i.e. 5 wide) doesn't mean you should keep doing it in football. Especially against the Giants. Becoming 1 dimensional against a team that can pass rush 3 with the force of 5 and hence can drop 8 back with no threat of a run is not the best strategy in my opinion.

They were never going to run the ball today, they are just not that team. I'll take Brady throwing to a wide open Welker every day of the week. It just didnt work out.

That hasn't worked against the Giants 3 times now.

They also had Vollmer back and could put in Solder as the 3rd TE. I kept waiting for them to go to 3TE and grind down the Giants in the 3rd and 4th. Instead they go five wide. I'll always think that cost them the game.
