Default Shane Vereen?

Been thinking about him all week. If he's active, I expect him to contribute on offense.

Bedard said this morning that Woodhead will be the feature back over the law firm.

He is never active Lol.

But I said in the other thread that Woodhead will be the featured back. He was our best runner last time we played the Ravens.

It's not time to overthink things. Go with what has been working.

With that being said, I expect Vereen and Ocho to continue to be non-factors this week.

I like the kid's prospects playing a decent amount next year but not for Sunday.

Vereen's skill set would be awesome to have on field. But it'd be tough to justify making 5 RB's active, so he looks like he'll sit again per usual.

Back in 1994, Parcells started Corey Croom over Marion Butts in a playoff game vs. the Browns. While Butts was not having a particularly great year, he had been the feauture back all season while Croom had hardly even played (if at all).

Croom did nothing in the loss to the Browns.

I'm not saying it can't work but I prefer the idea of playing the guys who got you there instead of playing a hunch.

I count Vereen as a vested rookie for next season.

Why would you want to suddenly put a rookie that had not played all year long into the conference championship game - especially against the league's best (or at least one of the very best) defenses?

Why would you want to change personnel on an offense that is clicking on all cylinders right now?

Can we aggregate these periodic Vereen threads with the other idiotic threads, the Ocho threads and the now defunct Taylor Price threads? So similar and so wrong.

I think I'll start a "Is this Ron Brace's Breakout Game?" thread. It ought to be good for 16 days.
