Nice post.

I agree. In many ways, coaching (low on the totem pole) is taking a step back from playing (at a high level), and unless someone aspires to be a HC, I can't imagine why a well-off player would want that grind.

It would take alot to get to that. As he isn't on the roster and I doubt they bring him in without him being a near lock for the roster. But anything is possible. If one of the WR went down they may look to him but than he could feasably be beat out by someone like an aiken or something but that Scenario is unlikely. I would imagine the only way he is back with us is if we have a string of season ending injuries during the season and he didn't find another home.

Passion. I mean I could see a guy like Bruschi doing it because he has such a passion for the game. Vrable has already said he wants to coach when he is done although I think he wants to do it at the college level.

I know, but passion for playing is very different than for coaching. As a coach you don't get the payoff of getting on the field and being the one ulimately responsible for succeeding or failing. Personally I can't imagine Bruschi coaching for that reason. Vrabel seems more intellectual than the average player, which is why he seems well suited for coaching. I think a love for the intricacies of the game makes one much more likely to coach, rather than passion, because I think almost all of these guys are most passionate about playing. I think that's why such a small percentage of marquee players end up as coaches.

The only organization I wanna see Brown with is the Patriots regardless the capacity I think i'd almost throw up if he wore puke Green.
That being said I hope he just retires goes out with one team he's had some of the best times any player could hope for Championships, making the team as a 8th round pick and working his way up, playing defense, the punt return agaisnt the squealers in the championship game.
I wanna be selfish and see Troy end it now.

It doesn't say what's the best team, which has the most talented players, which teams has the biggest payroll, smallest payroll. It stands for the team that played the best in that season. Put the number on there for that year. And the next year we start all over again everybody is at the same point."

Don't mind me, I'm a victim of off season mind. Is the lack of Europe exemption players going to cramp the style in training camp.

As a player, you are probably right.

FWIW, Troy's jersey is still full price on the Proshop. Maybe that's a good sign.
