already the article takes pains to mention that goodell has rejected BB's explanation. they are going to run with the line that bb said there was no 'deception' and make a mockery of it.

It's also poor writing by the AP.

Which isn't unusual.

Belichick says, "I made a mistake. I was wrong."

The AP writes, "Goodell has already rejected that explanation."

OK, then, he didn't make a mistake, and he was right.

The AP never bothers to explain what they mean.
