However, these videotapes likely were not used to make in-game adjustments because there simply is not enough time during game action and a 12-minute halftime to decipher and decode what those tapes contain. At halftime coaches and personnel staff are barely able to get a drink, use the restroom and relay to players the most basic things they saw in the first half, before the team heads back onto the field. Where the advantage lies is in the time it takes to prepare for the next game against the particular opponent being filmed: What would normally require watching and splicing hours of tape was already done in one fell swoop during a previous game.
apparently schelerth doesnt think so

This is what I, and others, have been saying for months. The Patriots did nothing additional in terms of knowledge but filming signals was faster and more accurate than other methods of "scouting signals".

Easily the best and most accurate thing I have read, regarding the actual impact of filming defensive signals. I wish the Pats would expand on this, and put it in full page ads in every major Newspaper in the country.

We lost a first round draft choice because of this.

Too bad it won't happen, I agree, every jerkoff mediot should have to write this on the blackboard 1000 times.

I don't think it's going too far to call this a must-read. It's amazing what you get from people who use logic and a coherent thought process.

I can't believe this was posted on ESPN... WOW! Forward that link on to anyone and everyone you can think of. This is SUCH a non-issue. Yet here I am posting about it... hmmm.

So let's put it this way... the taping and stealing of signals is NOT an issue anymore. The issue is the contrived conspiracy witch hunt. It is the lunacy the coverage and attention this getting. Those involved in reporting the story have become the story.

As for Specter, I equate this to Don Quixote fighting the Windmills he believes are Giants.

Hold on...so you're saying they didn't jump to conclusions? They didn't just spew nonsensical crap back at us (loud enough and often enough that people actually believe it)? You're saying someone took the time to *gasp* investigate this a bit further, rather than just scream bloody murder and condemn Belichick as the devil himself?

Well I'll be...

Seriously, when I get home tonight I'm sending this article to everyone I can think of...Tomase, Fish, Easterbrook, Schlereth, Mazz...this HAS to be read
