One last thing. An apology doesn't cut in my book. Although I feel for Tomase in the sense that his family has been threatened etc, I do not condone that at all. I can't help but think he should be fired. He had a job to do and he failed. Regardless whether his source was wrong or not, ultimately Tomase is responsible for his source. Imo what Tomase did was just as bad as what Borges did. It's just the consequences were more catostrophic. He rolled the dice and crapped out. He traded his reputation and ability to report responsibly for a shot at a blockbuster story and national recognition.

It's a sad day for the Herald and they know it. They are hoping this will just go away and it will. I just don't think anyone will ever be able to look back at SB42 and not think of Tomase and the Herald though. I just don't see Robert Kraft being the kind of man that sues a paper into extinction. I'd love to see a civil suit for 750,000 dollars though:}

Nope, anything short of firing for him (and probably his editor) is unacceptable. Yeah, it sucks for his family, but look at it this way. Go to work tomorrow and singlehandedly destroy the credibility of your employeer while pissing of 90% of his clients and see if they show any compassion for your family.

You'll be sacked and out on your ass in a heartbeat. Tomasse deserves nothing less.

Apparently, they never talked to Walsh.

They got the info not even from a secondary source, but a tertiary one.

I think they got it from ColtsInsider.

That's despicable.

And they really deserve everything that's coming to them.
Wow. Irony thy name is YOUR POST.

If multiple people don't lose their jobs over this, I don't see why the Patriots would not take this to court. My guess is that the Herald considers that a possibility, and I expect that Dumbasse and some other peasants will be looking for work soon.

That was freakin' great, what's wrong with you people?

Do you think they're going to let us replay the Super bowl? Of course it's not enough, nothing would be.

Those bastards had to kiss the patriots ass in their own paper.

Not from around here eh? CT doesn't count.

Boston sports media has always been adversarial.

Mind you, I wasn't here when Babe Ruth was itching in early world series.......

F THEM!! They have been doing shoddy reporting for years. This time they went to far. The Herald can go to Hell. What they did was IRRESPONSIBLE!! My boycott will continue. Tomase needs to go. I don't trust a guy like that to report information about my team.

This is too little too late, the Herald shows signs of shoddy journalism and published the report based on what?? The reality is their shoddy journalism unleashed a shyt storm of protest that has lasted for the past 100+ days and our franchise has been denigrated across the print and spoken media..

Even after Goodell said there was no evidence, the storm continued... all because of this article..
