If the Patriots sign Polite and integrate him into the run game I can see BJGE or Ridley going nuts. The threat of teams seeing a FB line up is going to stack the box then Brady can do what he likes from there.

I would be very happy if the Patriots signed a FB and a Safety soon.

LeRon McLain was available in the offseason. Settling for Polite because the team didn't bother earlier doesn't really inspire.

We should just put Gronk in and play a 0-0-1 defense, we'd be unstoppable.

I wonder if they became overly infatuated with the multiple TE sets and thought that would give them the effect of a FB without a FB. I dont think there's any substitute for a stout bowling-ball runner crashing into a defender, I hope they've learned their lesson and will actually keep a FB from now on.

We don't need to sign anyone. I'm sure Belichick expects to seet great contributions this year from Ihedigbo, Molden, Tarp, Adams and Ventrone.

I will go out on a limb and say that I think that Polite could be more valuable than any of these five, although one or two might be needed this week if there are no injury improvements.

Yeah, but he's still a Colt.
