TACKLE
Who is OK with the situation at OT? Vollmer is out of practice today, no biggie. However, if he weren't playing, we would be activating Welch. Are we all satisfied with that situaion.
SAFETY
I simply trust that Belichick has a plan beyond having Ihedigbo as our backup safety. In any game, we make lots of use of three safeties. We need a backup, or better yet an upgrade (as was the case at RG).
TARP
One can only hope that he is occupying a roster spot that will be vacated when we sign a veteran next week.

I'm sure Scharnecchia will put Tackle in the suggestion box.
As for the safety situation, maybe we won't be seeing the 3 safety sets as much this year. Perhaps BB doesn't plan to use it much anymore. But still, with the inexperienced players it's a bit unnerving.

At OT, I'm not sure. Obviously, they must like Welch to have brought him back after last year. It may help that he's familiar with the playbook. But since we as fans haven't seen him play, its hard to say whether I'm OK with the tackle spot. I'd be interested to hear a Vikings fan's opinion of him, assuming they saw him this preseason.
I'm okay with safety. Barrett looks like a decent player, and I thought Ihedigbo did a good job against us last year. I wouldn't want him to start, but we could do worse.
As far as three safeties, I think Belichick is more interested in having DBs play certain roles. It isn't necessary for that extra DB to be a safety. In fact, I think Bodden or Dowling could fit that "third safety" role really well.
Solder might be the best backup T in football. No problem there. Safety on the other hand. Yikes. Sergio Brown and Josh Barrett seem like a nice backup tandem. I'm hoping for a Darren Sharper signing next week. Drop Ihedigo. And, if there are injuries to other positions. We could sign guys like Gerard Warren or Sammy Morris. If Gronk II not looking good. Crump can always come back.
There are some positions we have to wait and see what we've got; Haynesworth, Ochocinco, A. Carter, S. Ellis and B. Waters. But, FS is the only weakness I see right now. I am worried a little about our lb's. I'll hold judgement until we see them in the 4-3.
We are accustomed to see lots of action by our 3-4 active safeties. How do folks think that they did? The announcers thought that Barrett was being picked on, and not doing very well. How much did Brown play?
Obviously, our four corners got lots of action. And when Arrington was getting enough reps, they moved him to DE. They gave up lots of garbage yards.
