Default Herdandez in a red jersey

Per SMY's Twitter Twitter, Hernandez is in a red jersey because he's not fully recovered from offseason hip surgery.

(On the positive side, it's safe to conclude that he passed his conditioning test.)

Do they even need to give injured players a red jersey? I thought they couldn't touch each other in practice anymore.

Hip surgery!? I suppose it could be something minor, but I don't like the sound of a 21- year old already having hip surgery.

Try and think of it as bionic enhancements.

My sister had a vertebrae in her back replaced with Titanium. She's bionic now. Her amazing powers include the ability to stand for extended periods of time and being able to sit through a full length movie.

I've been worried about this all off-season.

Maybe it's just that his new uniform number wasn't ready yet ...

He is NOT in a "red jersey" that was just the color of the shirt he happened to wear today (Reebok). I was there in person.

He is still convalescing, but appears to be 90% of the way there- saw him stretching near the end and running light routes.

Uh, a clue to all the negative Nancy's here...the fact that he's on the field at all means that BB doesn't regard him as a PUP contender but as someone who can play his way to football fitness by September, not November.r
