Default So, what's next?

As of right now (1440 16Feb08), we are off the front page of ESPN. I am guessing since government is closed until Tuesday, we won't see much until then. But, what do you guys think happens Tuesday? Press conference by Specter? Walsh announces he has accepted the deal and turned over his "evidence" to the league? The Pats buy some prime time tv and read a list of people they have on video cheating, along with an example?

I have no idea. But I will say it will probably only get more convoluted and screwed up. With each passing event, we all say we hope it's over now....and it NEVER is. So I've learned my lesson....it's going to get worse and worse until it all blows up. My hope is other teams' infractions come to light at this point.

I'm not sure but I think this is definitely going to get worse before it gets better

Who cares? Enjoy the ride. It'll give people something to talk about in the early offseason besides the draft and free agency. Remember, unless you're employed by the Patriots or the NFL, it doesn't actually impact you. It's just a game to be watched and enjoyed on Sundays (and Mondays, some Thursdays and some Saturdays).

I agree that this is NOT going away any time soon.

I support BB 100%

I just wish the Patriots organization would do SOMETHING to try to deal with this other than the ostrich technique.

The Patriots name has been drug through the mud. This is not good for the entire NFL and the sport..its not just the Patriots.

Sooner or later the other owners will figure out like Dan Rooney did that EVERY NFL team will be hurt by this.
It could even affect the elagues revenues and what they can get from the next TV contract.

Who knows, but it is what it is. Let's let it play out and see what happens. In the end more info on other teams "spying" practices will come out and things will not look or feel as bad. As a Pats fan, I am not ashamed or embarrassed by any of this because in sport, business, life in general people always try to get an advantage. As posted on another link by beechrisfx811 -> "Listen, that kind of stuff has been going on for as long as there have been video cameras," Bledsoe says of the accusations against the Patriots. "I know people are trying to make this out like this is some huge scandal, but it is at every level. You talk about college, you talk about high school -- people are taping stuff, and that is what they do. And they try and gain an advantage that way. And that is what the Patriots were doing."
As for where teams cross the line of fair play, he says, "It is a pretty fuzzy line. Like in other realms in the world, in the business world, when you get into a highly competitive environment, people are going to try and do what they can get away with. That is not unique to football."

I only wish that Goodell was savy like Stern or Tags and kept league business internal. I can tell you Commish Goodell has learned a very valuable lesson, you won't be reading any articles on him being tough guy Commish in the future. As former Atty's Tags and Stern understood outside risk would never put their league in this position.

NBA ex from today that will go away quickly because NBA will not investigate matter:

This isn't a "silver lining" situation. Having my team's accomplishments questioned by Congress is not what I call a "ride", let alone one that I would enjoy. And, oh yeah, I CARE.

Here's a good article. I thought it was pretty fair...

And I am not "worried" or anything, I was more curious about where peoples heads were at. I think it will get worse accusation wise, but by the draft this whole thing will be over, with alot of teams being exposed for doing the same thing.

Bob Kraft needs to hire a PR firm to do some work here. All the negative press is going to hurt his future business at Patriot's Place. He cannot survive there with just Patriot fans visiting .. he will need the general public also.
