I suppose those were called correctly? And that is just without reviewing the game....And NO that is not why the Patriots lost...but.. PLEASE don't make statements like that which are clearly TOTALLY untrue...YES..It could have been called better....Most games CAN..
They did let them play a lot more..but that is one of the problems...there are some games that are totally physical when MANY MANY things not called in one game...would have been flagged in another. There was mention of Holding called on that one play..there was Holding all game..and I wish the Patriots had done what the Giants did with Eli...I think they were afraid to BE physical...as there were no Holding calls I remember on passing plays..That is very difficult for players.. Overall the officials were quite good..I just think they let a lot go... CoachB should have challenged the fumble call..that I think might have made a difference..but..I have 'friends'... that were saying it was fixed..and such..and while I do believe the NFL or elements in it can cause officials to do things in a team's favor...THAT was not the case last night.. (It was not like the Colts game of Week 10 or of the SB two years ago,,)
Stop Whining, The Giants just physically beat the Patriots on offense and defense. Blaming the Refs is avoiding the facts. The Patriots had a great season, but yesterday they got soundly beaten by a much more physical Giant team........................just like the Patriots did to the St. Louis Rams some years agao in the Super Bowl.

Some calls go your way. Others do not. That Colts game is the only one I ever watched where I thought "crap, somebody told them to call it this way." The feeling's pretty much gone away since then.

The Giants beat us. The Giants beat us. The Giants beat us. Get your head around it.

To the OP, not a bad question, and it ran through my mind two, but certainly not in any open-and-shut way. Certainly not a lock for a challenge or booth review.

It would've been nice, but I don't think it fits the rules.

It could have legitimately been called either way. I use the "golden rule" on this type of call. If the roles were reversed and Brady was called in the grasp on that play, how would you have reacted? I probably would have blown a gasket. That tells me it was probably a good call.

Eli was never under control IMO, even though they got ahold of his jersey he was still able to move around.

We've been burnt by some plays like that one this year its insane. When they grabbed Eli I started shouting because I thought for sure he was going to go down, but as soon as he scrambled away I knew exactly what was coming next.

No. If it wasn't a remarkable act of keeping his balance to break the tackle, then he was never in the grasp.

As in most games, the worst ref noncalls were holds and push-offs. The refs had some brutal misses that hurt the Pats. I bet there were similarly many that hurt the Giants.

Or maybe the numbers WEREN'T similar, as it does seem the Giants were more physical ...

After seeing the play from different angle now, it could have been either way. From one angle he was clearly in the grasp. From another angle he was still moving and wasn't stopped.

SO Mr smart ****** My statement..learn to read before sticking your foot in it....I was pointing out WHERE the game COULD have been called better.....in response to someone who said it could not have.."Overall the officials were quite good"..
