Default Marcus Cannon: Done with chemo

I hope this turns out well for him; he just finished chemo this week.

Quote:
"The first thing my mom and my dad told me to do is pray," Cannon said last week, "and here we are today. I'm a fifth-round Patriots draft pick, and half the mass I had is gone. For everybody who doesn't believe, here's your reason to believe. It's a miracle in itself that somebody with a life-threatening disease gets drafted."

Cannon's chemo treatments will be finished this week; his smile is back; he is working out and hopes to be at the New England Patriots' training camp for the first day of practice in August, assuming the NFL lockout ends.

And to give you an idea of how he's tolerated the treatment:

Quote:
Cannon has had nausea only once. . . . He hasn't lost his hair, and he has maintained his weight despite losing his appetite. (He said he dropped to 338 after his first chemo treatment before figuring out he had to eat despite not being hungry. He now weighs 348.)

. . .

The same day he had his third chemo treatment, Cannon swam and played basketball. He said he couldn't be better.

Some people just dont lose weight easily, just like some people can be rather thin despite eating like Adam Richman.

And to give you an idea of how he's tolerated the treatment:
I have been behind the idea of him NOT being an automatic PUP, as many have assumed the whole time.

Looking at his specific situation in regards to chemo, his ailment etc, there is not any huge reason why he couldn't be ready for the opening day roster--however, if he weren't ready to go, everyone would obviously understand due to his situation.

I have expected him to be at least 50-50 the whole time as far as being on the opening day roster, and I am ecstatic to hear that he is doing so well, not just from a 'football' standpoint of course, from a more 'humanistic' side too.

Creator of the Pats must draft Jason Verrett in 2014 no matter the cost fanclub.

This guy could be the steal of the draft.

The Bears wanted him in the 1st round but backed off after the cancer rumors came out.

I've been saying from DAY ONE that this kid will be on our Opening Day Roster.

And I'll be surprised if he isn't starting by about mid season.

If Cannon pans out and plays at a level that BB/Dante think he can..the OL will be just about set for the next 4-5 years...now sign Logan !
