Default Karma is a B!tch

Now I know what the fans of the 2001 Rams felt like ... magnified by 100!

It's fun being on the winning end of a great upset. It is devastating to be on the wrong end of one though.

I still appreciate what the Pats did this year... it was amazing.

I hope our team fairs better than the Rams did... I think we can still compete for the SB in the coming years. Our dynasty isn't over yet!

That's exactly the attitude that's going to be necessary for this team to continue to succeed in the coming years. As long as the Pats have Belichick and Brady for the next five years or so and a good talent base, they're going to be awfully, awfully tough to beat. And no team is going to be more motivated heading into 2008.

This is the loss of all losses in the football world, it's true. But it's the price you have to pay for this kind of success. You win some, you lose some - even at the highest level if you're fortunate enough to play there all the time. The Patriots have done some absolutely amazing things in the last few years, and I would certainly bet that the ride isn't over yet.

Yeah it is. The Patriots' run has come full-circle.

February 3, 2002 - shocking upset of the Rams
February 3, 2008 - shocking upset by the Giants

I hate to be negative but the Pats haven't been the same since beating the Eagles in SB39. Every year it's a collapse.

I'm not excusing the OL play last night, but really the only difference has been a couple of plays here or there, the narrowest of margins. The Pats could have won last night just as easily as they could have lost to the Panthers in Super Bowl 38, and NE was a third-down conversion away from going to the SB last year, a game which I believe the Pats easily would have won. Oh, well.

You tell me - you've had an extra few weeks to savor the flavor. And only 1 ring as the Indianapolis Colts (the Johnny U. days were in Baltimore, so those championships really belong there)? The three rings tend to distract me from the pain.

The 49er dynasty went through a three year drought.

This team is still loaded and I'm fully expecting a SB win this upcoming season.

Just because there is some kind of symmetry between our 2002 win and this year's giants win is no reason to predict the demise of the pats' greatness. Tell me, what combination of coach and qb could possibly have a better mental approach to the game to come back from this? Belichick's "humble pie" is not some mere motivational trick, it is really the way [I]he feels[I]. Same with Brady. Belichick is then smart enough to take that humble feeling to make brilliant football plans with it. I am personally very excited to see what this team is going to do in the next few years.

Kindof ironic that Petty didn't play "Even the Losers (Get Lucky Sometimes)" last night, huh?

This was the sentiment after last year's loss to Indy - and NE suffered an even more devastating loss this year!

Instead of expecting them to always pull through, I will remember these last 3 playoff losses and adjust my expectations.

We're becoming the football equivalent of the Yankees. It sucks but we're on track, I just hope we don't lose for 4 more years in the playoffs.
