Default Nice Article on Pat Sullivan

A really nice read from PROJO:

I loved the Sullivans. Pat Sullivan was and is a true gentleman. Nice to hear he's at the Super Bowl festivities.

Very nice article with a positive look at the Sullivans, instead of the usual negative stuff.

(PS - I wonder if Pat Sullivan will get to say "hi" to his old buddy Howie Long? )

It is a nice article but unfortunately the only thing most people will ever remember about Pat Sullivan is the incident with Howie Long.Memories like that die hard.

I always thought that incident made Pat Sullivan more likeable in Pat's fans eyes. Howie Long & Matt Millen looked like total loser bullies with what they did to him. They should be ashamed of what they did, and if they ever run into Sullivan, should apologize to him for it.

Deb,You're right but someone had to be an adult in this situation so I think there is enough blame to go around.Everyone was wrong and they All should apologize.

They (Howie Long and Matt Millen, who played for the big bad Oakland Raiders) beat him up on national t.v. when Sullivan was celebrating (some say taunting Long & Millen) after a Pats win over the Raiders. Pat Sullivan, who was always kind of a goofy buffoon in those days, probably measures 5 1/2 feet tall. Blood running down the face and everything. It was a disgrace.

He was mouthing off to either Howie or Millen and they clocked him. Even Hannah's brother Charlie was wailing on him. John Hannah and Nellie just sat back and watched. Afterwards John Hannah went up to Sullivan and said "How does it feel to play with the big boys" or something to that effect.

The Sullivans meant well. If Chuck Sullivan had turned a profit and not financial disaster with his family's investment with the Michael Jackson venture, they would have poured the money right back into the team.
