Default AFC Scout's take

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...kes/index.html

this is interesting

Quote:
I thought I'd see more out of Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel than I have of late. He's going to be in the free-agent market because the Patriots promised not to franchise him again, and I really expected to see him at his best as he was about to go into the market. But his play has kind of leveled out late in the season. He's not really making the big plays he has made in the past, and he's not locking guys down like we've seen him do in the past. Maybe it starts this week.

take away the man's picks, and he is average at BEST. he will get burned a few times tomorrow, and jump a route only to leave someone wide open, no doubt. he has his great moments, and i certainly hope they come in the next few games.

not really..his picks put him at the elite level but hes a very good corner without the picks. hes smart and in position most of the time. jumping routes is part of his game and part of the scheme. he wouldnt do it if BB disapproved.

Indeed, a compelling article.

More than a few things, perhaps, to quibble with
... but nothing i care to flat out DISPUTE.

Banks has engaged and entertained many a reader with this piece, i'm sure.
