Default Rivers defends talk

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3200457

Quote:
"I'm aware of it," Rivers said. "I really don't get too caught up in it. It's kind of surprising, really, to be honest with you. But, again, I'm out there having a good time as I did in the backyard since I was 5 years old. I'm not saying anything out of line. There's no profanity being used. I know what I'm about. My teammates know, my family knows, everything else, I can't worry about.

"When it stops being fun, that's when I'll stop playing," said Rivers, who compared his talking to ribbing a buddy while playing in the backyard.
he is having fun guys...

Everyone is having fun when they're winning. How did he react when the patriots were just poking fun at him last year? To quote one LaDanian Tomlinson, act like you've been there before.

It's only because of LT's "classy" comments is because ESPN is looking to call the Chargers hypocrits. Also, Rivers always has a camera on him and Dierdork is the FIRST to point out his classlessness. I hate that guy

Q: What was your opinion on the behavior of Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers Sunday?

A: Everybody views the game through their own eyes and with a different approach. Philip’s a fiery guy and he’s very competitive. That’s fine. There’s no problem there and I don’t think there was anything that was untoward. He takes the booing and the taunting from the visiting fans in stride and that’s good. More power to him. I wish him well and I hope he’s able to play against the Patriots. By the way, as we talked about before, pundits said, ‘Oh, yeah. Philip Rivers isn’t good enough. He’s not good enough.’ The world found out he is good enough.

You know how he reacted? By trying to figure out a way to come back from the hole they were in. They drove down field and scored a TD but we were WAY out of it by then. If he could start the game how he finishes then he could be the next big QB.

I could see him yelling at the refs:

"sir, excuse me, what do you call that? WHAT? How could you call that a hold sir? excuse me sir, could you tell me how that was a hold? you're the devil sir! You're the devil. I'm sorry I didn't mean it but you're a mean guy."

The thing is, these aren't his buddies. It is one thing to smack-talk someone you know well. We all take it in stride. You don't go up to a stranger and smack talk him unless you want a beating. This is more like that case.

The difference is that Brady calmly calls audibles while Manning flaps like a chicken, barks 11 code words, and makes sure every camera in the stadium has documented his once-in-a-generation (and patented, I believe) ability to see a defensive formation and change the play. Both have the same effect, but Manning transcends measurable human intellect while Brady merely chooses a different play.

I really, really am tempted to photoshop his face into a gay sex scene photo but I'm too mature and I really don't feel like looking at gay porn tonight.

Rivers is the biggest idiot in football. What is it about SD QBs? He'd be fine if he'd just shutup and play.
