Default Terrell Suggs?

I was reading my SportingNews, and it said on one section of the NFL part, that the Patriots may look at Balitmore's Terrell Suggs to replace either Colvin, Bruschi or Seau. They said he could take a similar role to Willie McGinest when he was here. He can play DE/LB. What do you all think about him?

He's great.

And will cost entirely too much.

I believe he hails from Arizona and played his college ball there, and has expressed an interest in playing for the Cardinals, so I'd say that's his likely destination.

Maybe the Pats get a Superbowl Discount?

Suggs had his best years as a 3-4 OLB in the pros. I wouldn't be shocked if the Pats made a run at him, but he wants to go to the Cardinals. No seriously!

Personally, I think he would be perfect in our system.

how about we stop worrying about 2008 team til when the offseason comes around. we'll have plenty of time for it. in the meanwhile, enjoy the greatest patriot team we've ever had.

"T Sizzle", OLB. playmaker. 80 tackles (52 solo), 5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 6 passes defensed in 2007.

sack totals, previous years:

03: 12
04: 10.5
05: 8
06: 9.5

The passes defensed stats over the last 2 years suggest they use him in coverage a fair amount these days (6 in 07, 8 in 06). Fast, powerful, young, good instincts, stats might be under-represented, given how many tackles and assists get attributed to R. Lewis there.

Would he "get it" in New England? Who knows, with any of these guys. If the Sporting News is right and we're looking at him, that's part of what we always look at.

I have no idea what he'd be like on the inside, but as an OLB, part of what you'd get would be youth, so it's worth thinking about assuming the skills translate.

If Suggs wants to be part of a SB championship caliber team he'd be a fool not to give us a look. But if its all about the benjamins.....then he's not going to drink the cool-aid to begin with.

And he is only 25 I believe. I would love to have Suggs but I don't think the Pats will be able to come up with the money after trying to retain their own players. I read that Suggs wants to return to Arizona but the Ravens would be stupid not to franchise him. The Pats still need ILB's.

Ravens front office philosophically tend to avoid the franchise tag (for whatever reason.)

I think he'd be a great fit for the Pats if Colvin walks. And honestly, if Colvin & Asante walk, not sure why people think we won't be able to afford Suggs.
