Default Tailgating in the Meadowlands

We got there at 5pm for a solid 3 hours of partying. (Turns out, we parked in section 16 - D, which after you drank too much looked like 16 - O !!)

1. The place was 50/50 Pats fans / Giants fans at the early tailgate. Crazy feeling. Everyone in red white and blue.

2. I concur w earlier posts - Giants fans were really cool. Laid back, fun loving....they enjoyed us being there. We were sharing food and charcoal with our G-men neighbors. Good natured trash talking was abundant.

3. There was no frickin supervision in the parking lot. No mounted troopers. So people were launching fireworks, the big birthday cakes. What a trip.

4. After the game, people built frickin bonfires. It was awesome.

5. They do NOT have enough prtapotties in that place. Gillette has like double the number. Weird.

6. When we pulled out at 1am, the place was a disaster area. And the RATS had a game at 4pm the next day against that lame-ass Herm Edwards. Too funny.

7. I have to say, building a stadium in the middle of nowhere next to three hiways is genius. That place cleared out in a hurry. No inching up Rt-1 for those ppl. Good help our sorry asses in Foxboro. The Sullivans were idiots.

8 By the way, they are building a new Giant stadium which is too bad. Our seats were on the 50 yd line, row 4 in the third tier. (my work pal is Giants season tix holder) They are the equivalent of front row club, then straight up another 20-30 feet!! Amazing perspective, in a kind of arena stadium. There is no comparable view in The Razor. There is not a bad seat in Giants Stadium, because it goes so straight up. Even the top row is close, and over the field.

9 Had to mention they are building a Patriots Place there too (Giants place??). Looks like they are building an indoor ski slope, called Xanadu. WTF.

All in all, it felt like a Super Bowl roadtrip, with 3 hours tailgating before, and 2 hours after. An amazing win sandwiched inbetween.

You guys Rock. -Fritz

Yeah, they've had that in the works even before Patriot Place. So I think Kraft actually kinda stole their idea.

We must have been very close to you. There was an RV blasting Joe Pesci music... (youtube Joe Pesci- and you'll know what I mean- get the non-clean version).....

We parked amidst several other Pats fans who were tailgating. 4 different groups of us had barbecues and gas grills going and this dad wearing a Giants jersey , eye black was having his two kids ( ages 8 and 10 about) run patterns and catch passes within feet of the grills. We mentioned it to him that it wasn't such a great idea and he ignored us. We were taking bets how long it would take one of the kids to run into a grill......Sure enough, one of these future Rhodes scholar nearly knocked over somebody's dinner and almost caused an accident. Only then did they stop and move to an unoccupied area.....
