Default The Silver Lining to a Loss Saturday

It could happen, of course.
Colts ... Ravens ... Eagles
all had a shot.
Giants are as good as they are.

But if the Patriots lose Saturday,
can you even conceive of them
failing to win the Lombardi?

I can't.
Their focus and determination
would be simply off the scale!

I think it's safe to say it already is.

I don't see how losing this week makes them more determined. That's just nutty.

Pretty much. If you need extra motivation to win in the playoffs, well, you're not going to win in the first place.

If any team understands the playoffs, it's this team.

There is no silver lining.

Win, lose or draw, the Patriots will be equally focused and determined to take home the Lombardi.

I don't believe for a second that the Patriots will succumb to the pressure of 19-0, or that they're "due for a loss," so it's better for it to come now than in the playoffs, etc. etc. It's all just paranoia, and while I understand why some fans have it, it just isn't very realistic to think that the Patriots have any less of a chance to win out if they don't lose one game.

A) "We're 16-0, we better win it all!"
B) "We're 15-1, we better win it all!"

I don't see how option B is better, in any way what so ever, than option A.

I think they will have that little extra gear if they are 16-0; not that there would be much of a gear left to add. But 15-1 ? It makes no sense.

I almost think people start threads like this just to test people. How many of these kinds of threads did we ever see over the last 6 seasons? Can't wait to see these threads pop up during the playoffs

I don't not think the Giants are as good as they Colts, but you are entitled to that belief. Either way, I would like to point out that the fact that the Giants are "as good as" three teams that lost to us does not make an especially good case for a Giants victory.

Or is this one of those "blueprint" things?
