On the depth chart, ive been a huge fan of his, but some how 1 catch in 2 weeks is starting to look like he may be gone .. Ive been in his corner, but Gaffney played alot more than he has in the last 2 weeks.. I guess some people may get thier wish and he will be a 1 and done here in Foxboro. Personally I would rather him here, but its now starting to look like it wont be worth it money wise..

I'd agree. It's not like today's conditions favored a guy who's specialty is shorter passes as opposed to a guy like Stallworth who is more of a deep threat.
It's not like the winds were 20-30 mph and it was rainy or snowy conditions -otherwise it would make perfect sense to give your short passing options more reps.
I'd say today's game is proof positive that they've lost confidence in Stallworth.
I'm just amazed - a few days ago people were complaining about the lack of a running game and today, given rain, snow, sleet and wind, people are grumbling about the lack of a deep pass attack.

I think Stallworth was 1-n-done right after Moss was signed. He has done a fine job this year but the money isn't right for a #2 and CJ will need a role to grow into next year. I just hope Gaffney is back for short money since he is ideal as a #4 receiver.

While Stallworth might have been a deep-threat in the past, he's been all about the YACs this year. He's earned his pay catching short passes and making something happen. I was surprised he wasn't used more today.

This is Boston. Is this type of attitude new to you people? Not everyone will talk about how awesome we are all the time.

Stallworth HASN'T been used as a deep threat much this season (other than decoy maybe). His production has been short passes, then YAC, and mid-ranged catches. I would think he would have been ideal for this type of game. He runs like a RB when he has the ball.

This is the year. We put our failures in the past, it's a new year, a new defense. It's time to prove to the league that the Patriots are back and aren't going anywhere and they will be the last ones standing in Feb.
Update: Well that didn't work out as I had planned. Next year baby, next year 19-0 we go. Next year.

EXACTLY. This is the exact role that I think my man "BAM" can play for us next season...and for a fraction of the $$. He may not have Stallworth's Size or speed... but he can make similar plays in space (almost like a rb) coming in on 4/5 WR sets.
In the last 3 weeks; Gaffney has had more long catches; and more short catches than Stallworth.
I think its obvious he's been bumped down. The question is: Will the bump last the entire season.
I really don't care if it does. Its nice seeing Stallworth tear thru the defense after the catch; But I think Gaffney's ability to catch the ball is just as good as Stallworth's; And if Gaffney is a better route runner then he wins (not saying he is; but there must be some reason he's been seeing more looks).
Of course, there will always be Stallworth apologists (probably the same Maroney apologist crowd): It was windy; It was cold; The gameplan favored the short game (which is what we actually have used Stallworth at); He was up against the top corner in the league so obviously they didn't throw it at him; He was double teamed; He served as a decoy and did his job...etc etc etc
