Default Crable & Jets query

I am hoping those who played or coached the game - in addition to more knowledgable fans -can throw their two cents for the benefit of those like me who haven't:

Can the Jets glean a lot about our D from Crable and change their schemes? Or, are the schemes/plays at this stage in the season already well known and hence comes down to players executing the plays (which means Crable can add very less info to what the Jets already know)?

I am also assuming that Rex will have time to chat with his brother in Cleveland and can learn something new.

Thanks!

At this point because we play the Jets twice a year every year, there are not a lot of secrets between the two teams. The game is a about execution.

Anything the Cleveland Ryan can tell the Jets Ryan is already on film.

Does anybody know if Roger "I bleed Green and White and not just because I have the clap" Goddell going to the game? We seem to play poorly when that ultimate Jets fan is in the house.

The role Crable had in the defense was simple- there was no intelligent design to his tasks other than basic rushing which led me to think that he was already on borrowed time and was one strike away from being cut.

My suspicions is that his problems were not strictly health- it had to do with motivation and his intellectual ability to acquire the defense.

I think it's the same situation with KOC. A primary reason BB released him was that he wasn't in a hurry to really acquire the playbook over shedding his bad habit of allowing plays to break down and to scramble (something he acquired from his days at San Diego State where he had a horrendous OL). As it turned out KOC had zero influence, other than occupying a valuable roster spot.

My prediction is that the same will be true of Crable. He will just occupy a valuable roster spot, and that will be the extent of his contribution. He may see playing time, but I would fall down if he contributes to the Jets in a meaningful way.

Maybe Crable will share his knowledge and experience and the whole team will get injured and spend two years on the IR?

We faced Dean Pees and Randy Moss this year with little effect on the outcome. Do we expect Woodhead to tell us everything about the Jets offense? There is so much player movement that I don't think this makes much of a difference, unless you pick up a guy that was released after the game plan was put in (ie. released by Jets on Thursday and picked up by Pats on Friday).

I raised that Cleveland connection because Brushi mentioned about the Browns knowing about the dummy snap count and not giving their coverage away. If the Jets D stand up or keep moving around without hinting their coverage, guess it is a good bet that two Ryans had a chat because I don't think that the Jets D did that many times with us.

Thanks!

no different than the pats getting info from Woody on the Jets.

Default Crable & Jets query

No offense but what is it about our D that Qb's have not already figured out. Chances are we give up 24 no matter what. Even I we hold them the team will still allow them to get 24.

+1. Keep hope alive

When queried by the Jets staff about LB responsibilities in specific situations his responses varied:
"I never really understood what to do then."
"I was on IR."
"That's a good question."
"Ouch."
