I am listening to the ESPN teaser last night "The Eagles shut down Moss and the Patriots - Who's fault is it?". Then moments ago, I'm reading one of those pay sites I belong to, and there are several articles about the Eagles shutting down Moss etc.
For the Media Morons:
The Patriots had something like 428 Total yards, or right at their season average. The Ghost missed a FG. Philly had nothing to do with that. The Refs blew a call taking away a Moss TD. Philly had nothing to do with that.
In fact, if not for that, the Patriots end up with 41 points, and Moss has 6 catches for almost 90 yards, and a TD. SHUTTING DOWN????? What?
I know there has been alot posted on the anti-Patriots media, but at least have the facts semi-match what's being written. This is getting out of hand.
Sorry for venting. I made the mistake of reading this crap during my lunch break.

The Moss callback was on the same drive as the missed FG. Your math is wrong. We should have scored 38 though, which is right at the average. The major problem was defense.
Don't forget that pass Moss dropped - that would've been for a nice chunk of yardage. Philly had little to nothing to do with that - just a bad play on his part.
All good points, also, that long pass that Moss dropped, how often does he make that type of catch? "Better than average" to quote crocodile Dundee......

Oh yeah, you're right. But, still, add that legitimate TD to Moss'/Brady's stats, and..........well, you get the point.

It AMAZES me that you take Moss' stats -- 5 rec, 43 yards (longest 11), and add in the bad penalty (on 1st and 4) and somehow get 90 yards! I get half that, 47 yards.
The reality: Moss WAS shut down. 43 yards? For Randy Moss this season, that is being shut down.

Moss was slowed down but I don't understand how you could be so hopeful when the Pats still rang up 430yd and 31 pt. Good job with Randy!
The if's and the coulda's have to go, even BB would say so. A dropped pass is a dropped pass, and a penalty can't be changed. Moss at 43 yds. is being shut down, period, just like rhodeislandpatsfan has stated. When Feely threw his picks do you think we should have said, "well, it wouldn't have been a pick if he had thrown it better?" (huh?).
Take it as a compliment of the Patriot's profound prowess that the media would consider 428yds of O and 31 points as being "shut down" - that's pretty cool actually.

The team is not configured to "get it to Randy no matter what", it's configured to win the games. That's why Welker caught 14 or 15 and they handed the ball to Maroney in the red zone. It's not the Randy Show.
Randy did his job and that's why Death By Welker followed. The Eagles gained some dominance in the deep game by giving up dominance underneath.

See the pattern?
You are right on......Moss did his job, maybe he didn't gain 100 yds or score 3 TD's, but the team won and he was huge part of it. As he has been all year.
Why is this story gaining so much momentum? Do they really hate Moss that much?
I think the guy has been terrific since he came here - I will believe what Brady and BB have to say about him before listening to the taking heads.
