Default Hate to start a new MVP thread, but

On Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN 2, guest host made a strong case (strong to him anyway) for Favre. Forget his name, but he's on the talk shows now and then. Mike Golic disagreed, saying it's Brady all the way. The guy's argument about Favre is that Brady has an all time great coach, and "all stars at practically every position". Favre has a rookie coach and few outstanding other players on the offense, so the Packers success this year is all about him. Just passing it on, I think it will be Brady in a landslide because the Patriots are on everybody's mind this year, not the Packers. Also, where was this argument in 2003 and 2004 when Tom was just about the only star on offense? I need to pull for Favre crapping the bed this Thursday now, just for insurance. Sorry Brett, but Brady must win this one.

It was Erik Kuselias and he got no support from Golic although Schlereth said he could see his point. Even Schlereth admitted though that there's no way Favre gets it over Brady.

ESPN has become the National Enquirer of sports news.

It was Eric Kasilias or (Ka-silly***) as I call him. It's just more Anti-Patriot drivel coming from ESPN. Brady can do nothing right with some of these people. He gets to an AFCCG with Caldwell and Gaffney and that's not good enough now He has TOO MUCH talent. Favre has very good recievers and a good TE and all the Favre is a leader in the lockerroom crap he said I almost fell out of my chair laughing. Who was it the was playing games with management about retirement and who said he would not teach the you Rodgers the QB position? But what really made me laugh was when he said some of the lockerroom talk is that the players look toward Moss over Brady as the team leader! Of course he won't say what source told him that. Yeah okay KA-SILLY-AZZ.

Jeez you're too sensitive...It wasn't anti-Patriots at all...It was pro-Favre. The guy is entitled to his opinion.

1.) Brady by a landslide
2.) Favre IS deserving (not necessarily more so)
3.) If Brady had his, and Favre didn't, Brett would win

not a testament to either one being more or less deserving.

I don't see what the big deal is. Kasilias is absolutely correct in that Favre is more critical to his team this season than Brady is to the Patriots. However, since the MVP in the major american sports is actually an award given to the most outstanding player, and not the most valuable (despite the title), it makes no difference. Favre is more crucial to his team, Brady is the MVP.

Brady is having the best season in the history of the NFL by a country mile at the most valuable position in the NFL for a team currently being discussed as one of the greatest of all time. He would win the MVP any year.

Excellent point. People here seem to think that the NFL MVP has suddenly morphed into the Major League Baseball MVP. It hasn't. Brady gets the trophy.

I'm so sick and tired of the Brett Favre ball washing that goes on in the media!!! Don't get me wrong, the guy is great. However, just because the guy has his team at 10-1 in the friggen NFC does not mean he deserves the MVP award. How come nobody was talking about Tm Brady getting it last year when he still led the Pats to a 12-4 recrd in the AFC and had a 2/1 TD/INT ratio with Reche "bugeyes" Caldwell as his #1 receiver??? Man, I just can't stand when everyone acts as if Brett Favre is the only QB to get it done without all pro weapons. They act like Donald Driver and Greg Jennings are not good receivers. Those guy aren't Randy Moss, but they are every bit as good as Deion Branch and David Givens. The Packers have WON two games against teams with records above .500(Giants and San Diego). I hope the Packers win thursday because I hate Tony Romo even more, but I hope Favre doesn't play that good. Tom Brady better win this friggen MVP award this season.
