Obviously the whole Taylor thing sucks. That is one thing.
But I am flabbergasted at just how many people are extrapolating the rest of the season based on one game when we have 10 other games that should be just a relevent as that one.
Somehow, now that NE didn't win by 20+ points Josh McDaniels sucks again, Maroney is garbage, the defense is a sieve and on and on.
Didn't NE just obliterate a Buffalo team that was also around .500 prior to the game? Didn't NE hold Indy to 20 points a few weeks ago? Haven't all other great teams played poorly against mediocre competition before? Didn't the same AJ Feeley that ripped NE's secondary do the exact same thing against the best team in NE's history with a far worse Miami team?
I'm all for critical analysis. Show me why WR X was able to come completely free and how it was really safety Y's job to watch for that route. Diagram how NE blitzed improperly prior to a 24 yard pass play. NE clearly played their worst game of the year.
But they still won. How in hell did we have any confidence in the 2003 and 2004 playoffs if we can't in this team? Shouldn't we have a little more perspective and let the next game happen before we decide that things were not just a bad day but harbringers of doom?
Sorry if this comes across as overly obnoxious, but I really am taken aback by the tone on Pats boards today.

Maroney doesn't suck because of last night. His whole career he has done NOTHING above average. I don't know about you, but I want the #21 drafted player in the 2006 NFL Draft on the field by game 11 of the 2007 season. If we ain't going to use the kid, than we should have never drafted him. We should have drafted a cornerback, linebacker, or somebody that can actually get on the field. Maroney is a DUD, which is why BB doesn't play him. If he was a STUD, you can bet your arse off that BB would have him in the gameplan. The LT's of the world aren't left out of gameplans.

Word. Thats what im saying, I think it shows that they can win no matter the situation. Come on now, you know nbc asked the nfl to make sure it was a closer game in order to generate better raitings.

All the perfect fans deserve a perfect team.
The defense (pass) was actually a sieve last night. That is not a theory or hyperbole. That's just a fact. What we do with that fact is interesting.
To me it was all about not anticipating what the Eagles were doing toward the center of the field. I think that was the result of good scouting and game planning, and caught our guys unprepared.
But look, the other guys are pretty good, pretty smart, and want to win too. We aren't the only team with good coaches or players. We will have games where the emphasis is on winning the game, not piling up happy points.

It's the same few sheep bleating loudest at every opportunity. After an off game like last night, a few more more members of the fellowship of the miserable will join along with the bleaters. If New England pastes the Ravens, it'll just be the hardcore bleaters again.

Sure, but I think at this point you'd have to say that D was better. I love the offensive show, but wow....Ty Law, Ted Johnson, Bruschi at his peak, Seymour demolishing people...Rodney taking heads... That was a stellar defense, they were the highlight of the show.

Really? Go to the Chargers boards and ask them about that in regards to the playoff game against New England last season and the start of the year this season.
