Default Vollmer is capable of reflection

Indeed, he plays about equally well at two positions that are mirror images of each other.

You're right, it doesn't seem like the writer picked up on that.

One thing I keep forgetting is that Vollmer is actually 26, a bit older than most second-year guys. He started at college when he was 20.

It's also hard to believe he wasn't invited to the combine.

If I were starting a franchise I would start with Dante. He has been with the Patriots from 82 – 89 then 91 – current. Can you imagine 1 coach surviving that long under that many head coaches?

No one wanted Vollmer. I remember the cries. Look what he did with Neal. Dante is great

Fortunately BB has huge respect for the one-city career assistant coach. (That's how his dad was portrayed in Education of a Coach.) So it probably was easy for him to accept Dante rather than having to have one of "his guys".

It also probably helped that Dante is an amazing coach too And BB also worked with Dante when Parcells was coaching.
