Nationally, the smart talk is saying that Spygate is the big motivating factor behind the team running up the scores. I must not be smart because I don't think it has added one point to the scores so far. Well, maybe it added one point. So far all I see is an offense doing what it is supposed to do. It just happens to be good enough to do what it wants to do, and it does that. why sex it up with unsupportable theories?
I see the scoring success more as a result of a perfect storm of supreme talent, great coaching, and the HC's desire to impact NFL history. As a matter of fact, some guys and I were actually predicting this right after we made the move to get Moss in here. If we predicted it, then it must have been pretty obvious. Could you not see what was about to happen? Moss, Welker and Stallworth - are you kdding me? So this success had its origins in off-season moves, not in anger about Mangenius.
Anger does count but I just don't think the success in scoring points can be, or should be boiled down to that one factor that has the least impact of all the factors. Compared to the years of dedication to the profession on the part of the players and coaches and owners, this anger thing is way overrated. Maybe it kicks in against the Jets some, but after that kickoff they are just playing football, IMO. When it comes to fourth and short in the fourth quarter I expect them to go for the first down, no matter who they are playing.
I think the real story of this team is this: It got better - a lot better after winning championships, and while its opponents like the Rams, Panthers and Eagles went into the dumpster. Did that happen because of Mangenius? He is literally a pimple on the ass of progress.

I agree, this season is a lot more than a reaction to the rule violation and subsequent fine. If one looks at it logically, the Patriots didn't decide after week one to become an offensive juggernaut simply because they were angry. I don't think that is the kind of decision a team can make unless it is ALREADY an offensive juggernaut. That way the foolish ones in the media can see some casual "cause and effect" relationship and write about how the Pats are good because they're pissed off.
This whole "BB's revenge against the league" idea is nonsense in my opinion. If anyone REALLY wants to understand what's going on, they need look no further than Brady, Moss, Welker, Stallworth and the offensive line.
I'll bet the media places this year's incredible Pat's run on motivation from Spygate because they want to somehow, in a back handed way, feel they contributed to this by ramping up Spygate. I'm with you in that the team isn't overly motivated by this. If anything their motivation derives from a lack of recognition by older veteran fans and senior media members of their previous SB victories. Remember Brady's recent interview when he said, "10 in a row means nothing. We already won 21 in a row and we won 3 Super Bowls." Reading between those lines, it sounds to me that they have more in mind besides another Lombardi, but also want to capture as many records as possible along the way and leave no doubt that they are one of the best ever. Sometimes things need to be forced down peoples' throats.

Good point. I bevlieve that's a real motivator for some pissant analysts and writers. Definitely.
There is also this annoying general malaise in our media, politics included, to reduce everything to two-second bytes of information. They want to dumb it down, to turn it into something that it might not be just to satisfy weak minds that can't follow a story for more than one minute.
I think the Patriots are positioned to be better than any other offense the league has ever seen - just from a perfect storm of personnel and experience (esp. on the OL). HOWEVER, I can't possibly disagree that the Spygate B.S. has contributed to the (totally appropriate) shamelessness of the final scores.
It's amazing how the media thinks they know what goes on inside the head's of the athletes.
What motivates the Pats -- apparently winning as many games as possible is not enough.
How BB was motivated to use a sideline camera because of hubris, or arrogance, or because he needed an edge? (Never mind that if it was arrogance and hubris, hew would not need to think it was much of an edge.)
Whenever I hear about these motivations, I tune it out.
