Question about the late-game pass coverage - New England Patriots Forums

Beginning in the 4th quarter going through OT, how many passes did Flacco throw beyond the first down marker? I know there was a couple but it seemed like almost everything was dump offs with him having nowhere else to go. Anyone else see the same thing or am I forgetting some plays?

Not very many. Flacco was completely destroyed by dropping 8 into coverage. Early on he converted 3rd downs left and right because of blitzes, once they only started rushing 3 Flacco couldn't do anything other than check down.

Flacco has been notorious for having problems with the 3-man rush. Today it killed them.
