Default lphins set a record

I can't verify the accuracy but according to a blog on a lphins* blog, in their last game they set a record as the first team to ever come away from a 1st and 1 with no points.

*lphins because they have no D and no O.

That can't be a first. I'm sure I remember goal stands like that late in games.

This is the year. We put our failures in the past, it's a new year, a new defense. It's time to prove to the league that the Patriots are back and aren't going anywhere and they will be the last ones standing in Feb.
Update: Well that didn't work out as I had planned. Next year baby, next year 19-0 we go. Next year.

I can't say for sure one way or another. I know I have seen 1st and goal on the 2 or 3 yard line not succeed. And I know I have seen 1st and 1 become a fg. But this could be a record. But as I said, I can't be sure.

Good lord, that's no record. How many times has a team been stopped on the 1 needing to score a TD to win the game and failing to convert 4 times? Didn't we stop the Colts in this situation in 2003 (big McGinest play)?

Several years ago in the heyday of Buddy Ryan's Eagles, the Cardinals (were they still in St. Louis or AZ??? who cares) had a 1st and goal at the one. They failed the first two times but there was a penalty on the Eagles on the second play giving them a new first down. They tried 4 more times but failed to score.
!st and goal at the one and they failed 6 times to score............

Hell, the Packers stoned us on the one in 1997, Foxboro, Drew finally threw the ball on fourth down and the Pack took over.

Colts started at the 2 or 3. But I have a hard time believing this is the first time this has happened.
