Default AFC East

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm sure somebody will), by my calculations, one more win (or a Buffalo loss) and we win the division.

Is that the earliest ever?

Not sure about the earliest ever, but you are correct that a NE win or a Buf loss next week clinches the division.

I think it would tie the earliest clinch since they went to the 8-division format in 2002, matching the Eagles the year they went to the Super Bowl. I'm not sure about before that.

According to Adam Schefter:

Quote:
If the Patriots beat the Eagles, they will become only the fourth team since the advent of the 16-game schedule in 1978 to clinch a division title by its 11th game. The others were the 1985 Chicago Bears, the 1997 49ers and the 2004 Philadelphia Eagles.
