Default Question for Mods and others....

ok, so I'm a poster on the colts board. One of the regulars is trashing BB, so I'm having some fun and defending him. His one point is that cheating defined BB's career and personal life.

I tried to point out that judging a man by one incident was foolish, and how would colt fans feel if I judged Dungy by his sons death. The thread was quickly deleted and I got a nasty note from a mod never to broach that subject again.

Since this is the board run by the colts, I understand a mod needs to keep the discussion on topic (Colts) and reasonable (I was not being disrespectful).

At what point does moderation become censorship?

It's a privately owned board. They can censor you all they want. In fact they don't even have to let you post there, but they do.

This isn't answering your question, but I'll throw in my 2¢ anyway. I'd just stay away from that topic - it was not related to football. Maybe Dungy is a sanctimonius hypocrite, but there is no need to go deep into his personal life. If the situation was reversed, I don't think anyone over here would care for it either.

I would also refrain from going to the Colts website and reading their drivel. It lowers the IQ.

Tell the mod to GFY, take your ban and let them have their little dictatorship. It's not a democracy on private boards, but you don't have to post over there, and you're better off it you don't. No point in exposing yourself to the unabashed idiocy that permeates every moment of their pathetic, hayseed existences.

That's the point where they banned me forever from the IndyStar board for sticking up for my team. Starting content free troll topic is one thing. Defending your team from calumny is quite another. In fact I should demand that He Ban Me get banned in response to my banning just as in the cold war diplomats were routinely expelled from countries when one of their own was expelled from another country.

I'd give 'em one last bomb and take the ban. Of course, I'm not the best person to ask. I'm already banned there.

Frankly, you're lucky you got a note from a moderator. I just got banned directly for my posts.

I really don't understand the fascination with trolling. I joined Indy Star a long time ago because I was interested in reading their take both on themselves and us. I seldom post over there unless they are mis-stating something football related. I stay out of the idiot threads there as I try to stay out of the most idiotic here.

Maybe a lot of you should just go back to posting on generic boards like ESPN where you can just piss on each other all day long.

Trolling them there is a ignorant as them trolling us here. Why you would think they should enjoy it is beyond me. In fact because the Indy Star board was so poorly moderated a few years back it got over run with Pat's trolls who begat Colts resident trolls and between them they drove a lot of intelligent Colts fans off that board all together, which is why it is what it is today - a hypersensitive speck of cyberspace inhabited by obcessed Pat's bashers and bandwaggon pom pom wavers. Ian and the Mods here try to keep that fate from befalling this board, but most of you guys fight them at every turn with your free speech rants and troll baiting, even after Ian gave you a place to spar with them at will.
