Default Jenkins Absence

How does Jenkin's absence affect the blitz schemes of the Jets? It would seem that the Pats not having to double him in the middle frees a lineman to block elsewhere. Agree?

The problem with the JETS blitz is their collective speed. Those guys are fast and can move quickly to where they need to be. The question for OUR O-Line is how fast can we react to the JETS' blitz speed.

Having said that, I think we will be able to weather it well enough, but I won't be surprised to see a sack or two and a few hits on TFB. I also don't think that that will be enough for the JETS to win.

To my untrained eyes, Jenkin's absence did not result in a noticeable drop off of the defense's performance. Then again these things tend to take a game or two to show.

The biggest problem, as stated elsewhere, will be the crowd noise and communicating play changes (based on what Brady sees in the Jet's D) to the
rest of the team. Confusion and miscommunications are sure to happen on a few of the plays. Let's hope it doesn't result in getting TB killed.

Home field advantage is actually THAT..moreso than Pats HFA @ Gillette.

That's why it will be very important to come out swinging. A couple early touchdowns from the offense and some stops from the defense could be key in shutting them up.

i saw a bit of a drop off. while he did not play great, flacco started making more completions once jenkins went down. the ravens oline simply could not handle jenkins.

Jenkins went down on Baltimore's second possession. This is a most unusual comment.

What I think he's saying is that for Baltimore's 1st possession, with Jenkins in there, the JETS seemed to be in the Raven's backfield within half a second or so of the snap. I have to give the JETS respect for their speed on the blitz, but I also am not sorry that Jenkins won't be lining up this weekend.

I have no doubts that New England will win this game, but I also will not at all be surprised in the JETS defense doesn't make some plays here and there two. Their offense is horrible, but their defense is still pretty good.

They were fine without Jenkins last year, they'll be alright without him.
