There's more truth to that statement than you may realize. Under .500 this season and a repeat performance next season and he's out as HC of the NYJ. And after the way he's treated BB, what HC in their right mind would want a Judas like him on their staff knowing you could be the next one with his knife in your back. He'll have a blast doing meet-and-greets at the Wesleyan Booster Club in his next HC job...

If Mangini came into our stadium and cheated, would you be pissed at Belichick if he turned Mangini in? I hate the Jets, but being pissed at Mangina for this is a bit weird. I know if it were the other way around, I'd be praising Belichick for ratting out Mangina.

Wow amazing, the Pats are found guilty of a serious violation of league rules, are fined cash and DP's and Pat fans act like innocent victims.

this is just my opinion - but BB wouldnt rat out mangini or rather parcells since that would be the right analogy. BB is old school- he knows what everyone does and wouldve protected himself and done nothing just like herm edwards did

A few years ago, when Herm Edwards was coaching the Jets and Mangini was working for Belichick in New England, the Jets coaching staff noticed a Patriots employee on the sideline pointing a video camera at the Jets coach who was sending in the defensive calls with hand signals.

The Jets coaches reacted by smiling for the Patriots camera and stopped just short of saying, "Hi, Bill."

"At times, we would wave at the guy that was filming over there," a Jets source, who is no longer with the team, said yesterday. "We just gave false signals and waved at the camera. I don't know if they picked up our signals or not. We didn't really worry about it too much. We didn't make a big deal out of it. Sometimes we would just send a guy in with the play instead."
What mangini did was personal . It effected BB's reputation and also i guess his kids and family will have to answer this in their circle. This because a ball boy in cleveland whom BB brought to the NFL exposed a practice he himself follwoed when he was with the pats.

I wouldnt have been pissed if the colts or any other team without BB affliations wouldve done it.

It does bother me a little that so many fellow fans here are completely irreverent of the integrity of the game, but I'm sure fans of any team would be like this as well. We're all just trying to move on from this debacle.

The commissioner acknowledged that this violation had no impact on the outcome of games. BB said in his statement that video never affected a game in progress. This whole issue was a trumped up joke. Sadly, Goodell could have taken away all our picks in '08 and we still would have a better draft than the Dolphins.

Sorry but I think its a totally different set of circumstances. Belichick hires this guy in his early 20's, giving him his first coaching job and eventually makes him coordinator of a Super Bowl Champion at 33 years old. He's his mentor and the reason he is where he is. Then he pulls this stuff? Not at all comparable to Belichick doing it to Mangini.

This is just the Jets trying to fuel the public misconception that the Patriots won the game on Sunday because of the video recording.

I've seen arguments on some sites saying that the draft pick(s) that we lose should go to the Jets... HA!

It is to make themselves feel better as well.

They'd use it to draft a kicker.
