Default Samuel Speaks

Personally I think he got some sort of concessions - maybe not the promise of not using the tag again, but something...Just what? We will see.

Why wait for four weeks when you could’ve had the same deal at the start of camp?

“How do you know (it is the same)? I’m not gonna answer that. You can go find that out through somebody else.”

Something was done - hmmmmm

If Bill Belichick were a player in Samuel's situation, that is the exact interview he would give.

It's funny -- I think Zant's picked up BB-speak as well as he has BB's scheme.

Glad to get him back in the fold now go out there Assante and play catch with that mini football again.
I hope we didn't give up the right to tag him next year that's a huge bargaining chip and can't see Beoli doing that.

That trophy represents the team – I mean that word collectively, that is able to play the best season for the year that it's engraved. It doesn't mean anything about what happened the year before. It doesn't say what's the best team, which has the most talented players, which teams has the biggest payroll, smallest payroll. It stands for the team that played the best in that season. Put the number on there for that year. And the next year we start all over again everybody is at the same point."

My guess is that if there were some sort of concessions made, they were of the cosmetic variety, and aimed at allowing Samuel to save face.

I highly doubt the Pats gave up their right to franchise him in '08.

Who knows if he's really happy?

Making some cosmetic changes to the franchise tender enables him to say he's happy, which both allows him to act like he didn't "lose" the negotiation process, and keeps the press from turning his malcontentedness into a running story.

Since he knows that the terms of the agreement will never be leaked by the Pats, he can front like he got more from them than he did.

I have a feeling Shefter will somehow find out what the scoop is.

I can jump on the "magic" bandwagon. I think we have a chance to be something very special this season. Worldbeaters.
