Default An open letter to Gostkowski

Mr. Gostkowski:

(1) Your kickoffs OWN. More touchbacks would be nice, but I'm not complaining.

(2) You just need to get the kicks between the uprights and over the crossbar. Your kicks don't need to be 50 feet high.

That is all.

I didn't want to be the one to say it but I have some concern here. He has kicked a few out of bounds, missed a few including the weird spot in his range around the 30-40 during camp and preseason. He has certainly shown his strong leg and I don't think the concern should be to big.

Miller isn't the holder anymore, this may not be about Ghost entirely.

Miller wasn't the holder down the stretch last year either.

I presume he knows what he needs to work on. I'm just sayin' it so that I don't try to throw things through my TV set if he does miss.

After all, Gostkowski is one of my favorite Patriots (see my sig).

If he had had two kicks blocked like the Panthers, people would be overanalyzing that as well.....I think he will be alright.

Gostkwoski has been a little sketchy OVERALL, but he's improving and anyone using tonight's game on its own as a reason to be worried seems to be overthinking, IMO. The kid missed two FGs. One he should've made, one that was 52 yards. Do I wish he'd made both of those misses? Sure. Am I really worried? Not really. And his kickoffs are killer.

He'll improve, this O will be scoring in droves anyway. I'm not worried.

Put the number on there for that year. And the next year we start all over again everybody is at the same point."
