Default Product of the system?

How many fans are sick of people telling them that Tom Brady is merely a product of the system?

Every season I have to hear from a bunch of idiots that say this over and over again. Sure Brady has a very good Offensive line here in New England, but I wouldn't call him a "product of our system". I think If Brady went to an Atlanta or a Jacksonville(hypothetical!!!!), he would have no problem being a superstar there as well.

Peyton Manning doesn't have a great O-line? You wanna talk about a "product of a system". The guy never gets sacked and last time I checked Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne are pretty outstanding recievers.

give me a break....

If you're still hearing this from anyone in 2007, then indeed they are idiots. People were routinely saying this about Brady in 2001/2002 and into 2003 before the Pats won it all, but by now this talk is mostly gone.

Regards,
Chris

Kinda hard to tell either way because he's only been in one system, but he wasn't the star at Michigan that he is in NE. Michigan isn't a small school so you can't say he was not surrounded by talent or a good system. The only way you can make a statement that Brady isn't the product of a system is to send him to the worst team in the league and see how he plays there. If he takes that team to the playoffs and deep into the playoffs, then I would agree it's not about the system for him. Till then Brady will be considered a system QB by many in the NFL.

what system do we have that helps Brady?

The passing attack is built around Brady for his strengths and weaknesses

we spread it around because Brady finds the open person
Brady can throw passes all over

i dont see anything special we do to help Brady really.

u can say some of the WRs are/were but thats because Brady is very good and makes them better because he knows the WRs well and their strengths and where to get it to them

Exactly. I haven't heard Brady referred to as a system QB since maybe the '03 camp.

Heres a simple retort for any moron who says this. This "system" was 5-13 before Brady took over.

You answered your own question. What makes "NE's" system what it is, is the coaching staff and that system understands how best to utilize Brady. However if he went to Arizona and plays in that system and those coaches don't use Brady the same way, then Brady has to compensate for that and make adjustments to get the most out of Arizonas system. Can Brady play as effective in that type of system? That's the question.

So because of 18 games, that answers the question??? I think until he plays in a different system you'll never know. Since no one can see Brady anywhere but NE, that question will never be answered...unless this is BB last year and you hire a new coach with an entirely different system.

Are you suggesting we send Brady to the Dolphins?
