Default Josh Miller

Josh Miller knows there are two young Patriots punters in Tom Malone and Danny Baugher currently competing in NFL Europa who will make their presence felt down the road in training camp.

He also knows how the club tried to keep Todd Sauerbrun in its grasp by matching an offer Denver had made, only to have an arbitrator rule the punter’s contract was void.

The way Miller looks at it, big deal.

He’s healthy now. The way he feels, you can bring anyone in. He’s not worried about making this team, or any team.
Per NFL.com http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/3962
2004 16/gms 42.0/yds punt 0/blk 19/I20 5/TB 33.7/net
2005 16/gms 45.1/yds punt 0/blk 22/I20 4/TB 38.3/net
2006 10/gms 43.0/yds punt 0/blk 12/I20 7/TB 35.8/net
Career 43.1/yds punt 0/blk 22.45/avg I20 7.55/avg TB 35.9/net

In comparison: Baugher 8/NFLE gms 42.5/yds punt 1/blk 10/I20 2/TB 37.6/net
NFLE Update

While Baugher is competitive over 8 games at a lesser level of competition, the crafty old vet would seem to have the inside track. Baugher is doing well for himself though - it would be really sweet if someone needed a punter badly enough to offer a 7th for him.

Do not even need Josh this year, with this cast of characters and great coaching will only have to punt 3 or 4 times this whole season...
