Surprised I didn't see one yet ... if so please merge.
Well, with the signing of Green its likely foregone that Culpepper gets cut. It's unlikely he will sign anywhere as a starter (Vick situation pending).
I personally have been wanting the Pats to sign a vet backup on the roster. This team is simply too talented to trust Cassel at the reigns if the unspeakable happens for any significant stretch of time.
If Culpepper can pass a physical and looks up to snuff, I think he'd be a great signing for the right money.

if he was worth a damn...don't you think the Dolphins would have gave him a shot
Not at his current price, of course not. Plus, with the new regime, etc., I think they had it in their head to cut bait with Culpepper regardless.
Look Daunte sucked last year, but he had his knee torn all to hell. Three ligaments. No way was he going to be able to be effective. For most football palyers, ACLs take over 2 years to fully heal to get back to pre-injury strength, and his was brutal.
I think he's easily worth rolling the dice as a modestly priced backup if he can be had.
End of the day, I'd like the Pats to have a vet backup that is not over 40 years old. A healthy Culpepper fits that bill.
you usually see division rivals swap players and what not because of the amount of game planning they do...
its possible, imo it'd be a 2% probability
i think it'd be possible for culpepper to be signed by the bills or jets moreso than the pats, more likely the jets, b/c if they do sign culpepper, then they'd open up the deep ball, something noodlearm cant handle anymore...but there's a reason why the jets drafted clemens in the 2nd round(i think) in the 06 draft, as for the bills, j.p is finally developing, or so it seemed in the 2nd half of the year, and the bills traded away holcomb....
cassel going into his 3rd year, i'm excited to see what he can do, if the impossible happens....i remember his rookie season, against the dolphins in week 17, my friend was laughign in my face when the dolphins won, but the fins won by 2 points, with cassel having half or the majority of the playing time....cassel who threw 2 tds, failed to get a 2 pt. conversion, thus making it a 2 pt loss, 26-24 or somethign of that nature...my memory is foggy lol
imo - if it not an afc east team then it could probably be the packers, as the packers have had years of information on culpepper from the gameplanning....the packers have favre and rodgers, but they did sign bouman last year, and i dont think he's on the rsoter goign into the 07 season...
lol imagine if the packers got moss, and the dolphins released culpepper.........we couldve seen culpepper to moss in lambeau lol

well culpepper still has at least 4-5 years of good football left in him....and the fins did invest a 2nd round pick for john beck who is 26, if the dolphins gave culpepper another chance, and he succeeded, then he'd play for another 5 years, and when he'd retire, their qb of the future, john beck, would be 31 years old....green is just a set up man for beck....and plus, green know's cam cameron's offensive style more than culpepper, so the dolphins are going to hand the ball to green and release culpepper, let green play in 07, giving beck a whole year to study under cameron/green....and in 08, the fins will be ready to plug in beck....

Are you serious? Brady gets hurt and we have Culpepper and Cassel on the team, and you would play CULPEPPER?
If Cassel isn't fit to fill in for Brady, why the hell is he on the team? That's his job, was last year, too. No. 2 QB. You can sign a number 3 QB if you want, but it will be like Testeverde, in case BOTH Brady and Cassel get hurt.
