the replacement for dillon is maroney is it not? 2 rb systems are the new thing in the nfl but that is usually with 2 mediocre rbs. I think maroney will end up being more than adequate on goalline. i dont think shanahan wanted to draft him to put him in a tandem, he wanted him to become his next terrell davis. and i think the colts wanted him to replace james, sure he had rhodes to back him up but i think rhodes was seen as just a backup at first, not part of a 2 headed monster ala dillon/ maroney. I still think that maroney needs a reliable backup and hopefully morris can fulfill that role

It keeps them fresh and rested and if one goes down plug in the other. So if Maroney were to fall to injury, you want Morris as youyr feature back? Not me. BTW you apparently haven't seen Bush play because he plays in the Big East. He's also not a "power back", he catches the ball and can round off tackle just as well as anyone. He had a broken leg, big deal. It's not an ligament/tendon, it has healed. I'm not fixated on Bush; however, we need another "#1" back type and there are a few players in the draft that would make sense for the Patriots. Depth, depth, depth. . . .

EDIT: It would have been nice to be able to run the ball more than 5 times in the seond half against the Colts. We had NO ONE that was able to.
wow Maroney got an injury..big deal. Its been said he would of played if he needed to. We dont know the severity of it. a featured back si the whole who carries the load. how do u have a split featured back?

i would want Morris as my backup..he did fine filling in for Brown with no QB and a worse OL. Only a few teams have a backup that can be a full time starter / pro bowler..Michael Turner/LT...McAllister/Bush...Taylor/MJD(though they say he probably cant carry the load himself)...Julius Jones/Marion Barber..Portis/Betts(Betts wouldnt have gotten chane without CP going down)

i know Louisville isnt ACC but they play ACC opponents. I watched Miami, Wake Forest, VTech, North Carolina against Louisville last few years

Bush can not round off like anyone. Hes got good straight line speed but isnt very quick/agile. Hes kind of like Shaun Alexander in hes big but he doesnt run people over and doesnt use his size to his advantage a lot . How do you know hes healed? There are reports saying hes still limping decently. If you want a guy to get the tough yards like Dillon..it aint Bush.

it would have been nice to run the ball against Colts but they clearly had a tremendous run D in playoffs and dont say its Maroneys fault that we couldnt..OL was not helping the cause. The playcalling either. We all know Mr. Skipper McD.

Im not against getting a RB but wasting it in round 1? NO. Only RB i would take in first 2 rounds is Adrian Peterson but thats it because the unbelievable value. Tony Hunt will be a round 2 guy, so will Bush and Irons. First round: Peterson/Lynch.
