Default Troy still deciding

About as I suspected, it sounds like the ball is in his court and he's still deciding if he's up for another season.

Troy on radio

Wide receiver Troy Brown was a guest on radio station WJAB in Portland, Maine on Thursday morning. He spoke with hosts Dave Schumacher and Joe Palmieri and answered some questions on his future:

Do you feel like you still can play at a high level?

“I think every player, in their mind, at the end of the season they’re beat up. The best thing to do is to wait and see how you feel, and when the time is right, I’ll make up my mind.”

Had you won a championship, would possibly retiring be an easier decision for you?

“I wouldn’t say that. It’s a huge step in your life to retire from something you’ve been doing your whole life, my entire life anyway. It’s a big step no matter how many championships you’ve won, you’re giving up something you pretty much put your body on the line for it, and your life on the line for it, it’s been my job for God knows how many years. It’s kind of hard to step away from it. Just winning a championship doesn’t make it easier. I think walking away from the game without winning the championship would be extremely difficult. Just walking away from it, period, something that you’ve done.”

His love for the game is evident in there, I think he'll be back for one more year.

And we could definitely use him. He's still a great 3rd down target.

I wonder if he got another ring or two (had gotten more specifically) would that push him into longshot HoF status? As a key contributor on 4+ SB winning teams?

while I still think he may be leaning toward retirement these comments show that he is not having an easy time with his decision and who knows maybe he will come back for one more.

Just wondering if any knows what Berman and Tom Jackson yell out when they show Troy highlights?

Hopefully he doesn't check in on this board routinely and saw that there wasn't exactly a ton of people begging him return in the "Come Back Troy" thread.

Though I guess those that slammed reporters for "speculating" that there was a possiblity that Troy might not return can now agree, it is a little bit more than speculation.

I'll post there if I'm required. LOL!! I just think something like this is sensitive and I like to stay away from it.

There'll come a year when the team wants to move on and there'll come a year Troy wants to move on. I hope they're the same year.

I think we could use the vet presence this year, especially if Jackson is a little slowed by injury.

Not only that, but following an interception he instantly morphs into a serviceable DB - Marlon McCree can attest to that!
