Default Who are the best available backs in FA?

Who IYO are the best backs available in the FA market that are specifically made to SPLIT TIME with a main RB and not projected to be a full time starter?,Any good ones we may be interested in?

Possibly a rookie in the draft would make a better backup choice?

The only one I can think of that might be good to sign for the Pats is Travis Henry who I think is on his way out,Any others?

I wish Deuce McAllister was let go,I think he is one of the best part time RBs in the league, now that Bush is there I think Duece's role will even become less as I see Bush rushing for at least 1,200 yards next year and would like to see Deuce available, but I think they signed him up for another year or so.

Deuce McAllister is the primary back for the saints ....ie starter .Bush lines up in the slot /TE option more and i have seen him split out as a WR. Bush does play some RB but mostly they get him the ball in open space and deuce is the in the tackle downhill runner. Entirely different skill set and offensive production.what saints games are you watching ?

A draft pick might be good but then except for faulk we will have a rookie and a maroney who we do not kniow can carry the load.....i choice will be ron dayne as he is 30 and with a 2 yr contract we would know if maroney is the guy or we need another young rb.

You will see Bush as RB more and more often in the Saints gameplan next year..Thats why he is getting the $$$...Last year was his ROOKIE year....I expect Bush to be the main RB this year and have McAllister in there as a 3rd and short specialist..sort of like a Kevin Faulk role, but with a bit more carries,Expect Bush to also be a Pro Bowl RB in his second season,he started off slow then picked it up.

I'm starting to think BRING BACK ROBERT EDWARDS!!!! Okay, so he's going to be 34... minor technicality...

Not that this will ever happen anyway. I believe we'd have to buy the rights back from Miami. But he's tearing up Canada like the whole country is an ACL in a pro-bowl beach game.

allons, Alouettes, allons!

Chris Brown is a FA. I like him as a backup and short yardage back.

Ahman Green, TJ Duckett and Corell Buckhalter are 3 names in free agency currently. As is Marcel Shipp and Domenic Rhodes.

We know Maroney is the guy, we dont need to bring in a stiff because we doubt it.
Just like we knew Brady was the guy. Just like we knew Seymour was the guy. Light, Mankins, Watson, Warren, Wilfork, Samuel, etc, etc.
By 'we' I mean the Patriots.

If you are expecting the Patriots to bring in a 'hedge bet' for Maroney, and think the job isn't 100% his, his and only his, you will be disappointed.
