Default Argg poor Mangini

From Chris Mortensen on espn.com "around the NFL"...

Jets coach Eric Mangini got an excused absence from attending the Senior Bowl. "He needed to get away," said Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum. "He burned it pretty hard going back to the day he was hired."

Poor man. Hope he gets his rest this offseason.

His loss. Scouting the Senior Bowl is a good opportunity to evaluate talent.

It's not a big deal. The scouts work year round to cover these guys, I don't think Mangini watching them for one week will really change any opinions. And don't forget, he doesn't have complete control, so while he has input, he doesn't have the final say in who they draft.

he deserved some time off.

kudos to mangini. I had the Jets pegged at 5-11. I expected Mangini to be over his head, but he ran a good football team.

Too much football, eh? He needs more time with Play-Doh and Candyland.
