I'm sure this will shock many people. . . .

AFC East: 29-23*, total SOS** = 2.043
AFC South: 28-24, total SOS = 2.101
AFC West: 28-24, total SOS = 2.035
AFC North: 27-25, total SOS = 2.027
NFC East: 26-26, total SOS = 1.938
NFC North: 24-28, total SOS = 1.948
NFC South: 23-29, total SOS = 1.926
NFC West: 23-29, total SOS = 1.918

*Excludes 6-6 intradivisional record.
**Sum of SOS for each team in the division.

Given all of the injuries, defections, and other distractions, that stat makes 12-4 all the more impressive.

The AFC East will be an absolute beast next year. Every team in it - including ours - is on the upswing. And I don't see the gap between the AFC and NFC narrowing in the near future.

Of course, the tools that pass for the national football press corp will continue to wash the balls of any NFC team that looks like it has a prayer. I swear, some of these fools are living in the late '80s & early '90s.

Here's another one for you. The AFC was +16 in games versus the NFC.
Of the playoff teams, in the AFC they were 21-3 (division winners were 14-2) vs NFC with 9 teams in the conference having winning records...
The NFC playoff teams were 10-14 versus the AFC (division winners were 6-10) with only Dallas having a winning record in the entire conference.

Miami will be headed down, most of their defense is old and they haven't been able to draft many replacements.
