A few new faces in the locker room today, with guard Gene Mruczkowski back in the fold. It appears he's been re-signed to fill the 53rd roster spot.

Also, tight end Rod Trafford indicated he had been signed to the practice squad.

With the Pass going to I.R., the roster is now back at 52.

However, the practice squad is now full at 8 players.

WOW! The Pats just keep rolling with making such great moves. First signing Walter, release Gabriel, then re-signing Gus Scott who they cut all the time and then re-sign some guard who I don't care to spell. They seem like they can't make up their fu@$#!@ mind when managing their roster.

I didn't realize you worked in the Pats' front office. So tell me, what color shirt was Pioli wearing today? I love it when complete outsiders judge decisions they know very little about.

Unrelated. Walter and Gabriel were signed to the 53-man roster.

Guss Scott was signed to the practice squad.

Again, you're making assumptions based on the fact that, what, you read about the Pats making these moves? That's it.

Oh, yes, "all the time."

They've cut him ONCE, genius. September 2nd of this year.

Give some (actual) examples. You're batting 0-3 so far.

Guss Scott was on the Texans and Jets for most of this year. It wasn't like he's been available for practice squad duty the past 4 months.

Know what else? SITUATIONS CHANGE. Their singing and re-signing of Mruczkowski is based on A) The health of the OL and B) The health of other positions on the roster. If there are holes elsewhere, Mruczkowski is expendable.

You've proven time and time again you now absolutely jack about the mechanics of managing a roster.

Unless you wanted to give steroids Sauerbrun or a rookie (Baugher) a shot, Walter knew the system, was well-liked by BB, and was the best option for the team. What's this? The best option?!? What a novel concept.

For the production they got out of Gabriel in the first half of the season, pre-Caldwell emergence, it's worth the 5th rounder they gave up.

I guess you don't understand the reasons for all the moves..aand WHY they make them..but that's OK..maybe beyond some..but "cut all the time...." huh?? What roster were you looking at??? He has been injured the last TWO years..and this year was cut before the season started. I tend to think they saw promise in him..the problem was MORE the injuries than anything else..and yo my knowledge THAT was the only cut...maybe MORE..but I doubt it...Managing the roster is something NN does vetter than anything else..and having injuriies makes ir so much more harder..He's a Master at it all... As for Trafford, the TE to the PSqd?? He plad in the NFLE in o03 as a Patriot plaueramd was in camp in 03..cut before the season.

Just my 2cents..
Considering all the moves this offseason; losing a coah and our 2 top receivers we are still 9-4 and going the playoffs. In transltion and still winning the division.

Honestly I would have been happier if they signed steroid boy or gave the rookie a shot. I am certain either of them could punt it more than 34 yards. Also not sure what system the punter needs to pick up, other than a few fake plays.

All of this of course stems directly from my deep displeasure in the overall performance of the "Punter" going back to 2003. I realize he is a HOF holder and all, but he sucks at punting.

I will give him credit for the one punt that he managed to get inside the five, only to have called back for a penalty. Which he proceeded to kick deep inside the 20.

That's what I've been saying and thinking too. When you say transition i.e 'rebuild", all I can think of is the Titans and 49ers falling to the worst in the league for several years before starting to right themselves, not dropping from 14-2 to 11-5 and probably 12-4/(16-4!).

So much sturm and drang. So much sound and FURY.

Bottom line, are the Pats going to the SB? No. The best they can hope for is to not be embarrassed in the playoffs and to not lose anyone long term to injury.

Who cares who they sign, re-sign, whatever.

Life's a litterbox pardner, Ma Kraft isn't keen on the likes of saurhoid and how do you weigh the balance between 10 more yards on a kick and a veteran holder/sounding board for the rookie kicker as you roll into the playoffs? BB has been focused on easing Gostkowski into the NFL, with fair results to date. I'd say Kenny's leg was secondary to his ability to take over Uncle Josh's back porch rocking chair when the kid needs a kind word. We can live with the short term damage, it's the franchise kicker getting cuddled here.
